Simple ideas for letting go of the past.

The other day I was reading some quotes from Dr Denis Waitley from his book The Seeds of Greatness, when one stopped me in my tracks. To give you some background, I have been looking at Hale Dwoskin’s The Sedona Method and preparing to review it (it’s been a problem because the methodology...

How To Live 100 Years or More

Who doesn’t want to know how to live 100 years or more? Could BINGO be the answer?

I just had to write about this today! I saw this news item on the newsfeed at USA Today.

In Australia a bingo caller celebrated her 100th birthday on New Year’s Day.

100 is a very special milestone and not many can boast getting there. When you do see centenarians they are often in homes, but not Cecily Gaunson.

100 years young, Cecily still calls the numbers in her home town bingo hall three times a week!

She has been calling the bingo numbers for the last 40 years.

I was wondering if there were any other clues to her active at 100 lifestyle!

Cecily, from New South Wales in Australia says she does NOT smoke, eats a good breakfast every day and thinks that laughter is the best medicine of all. She is known to crack a joke between number calls.

Perhaps I should try to track her down for an interview and see if she practices all my 8 habits? Now wouldn’t that be something!

Do you know any stories about other centenarians? It would be great to hear them.

“Blue Zones” by Dan Buettner tells the stories of many centenarians, in four different places: Okinawa in Japan, Sardinia in Italy, Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica and Loma Linda in California.

They claim the feeling of being wanted as the primary reason. Second was a life filled with humour and laughter, as Cecily attests. Third, healthy, natural food, reasonable amount of exercise.

Thank you so much for this comment. That is very interesting and fits perfectly with my 8 Habits philosophy.

I shall seek out that book and read it for myself. Excellent.

Thanks again,

Hope
